Immediate Needs

• Foundation repair for the Surveyor’s House- $7500
• Educational supplies for our school fieldtrip program and summer educational activities- $1500
• Humidity repair for artifacts in Surveyor’s House- $15000
• New Carpeting in the offices and gift shop- $2500
• New furnace in the Gift Shop- $6000
• Siding, door, and window repairs to the Ingalls Home- $15000
• New Lighting in the museum exhibit (to improve artifact protection)- $5000
• Snow Blower- $1000

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society is dedicated to preserving three historic buildings: the Surveyor's House, the First School, and the Ingalls Home. Since these buildings are over a century old, maintaining and preserving them is an ongoing effort. This is our greatest expense but also our greatest treasure. They require specialized care from contractors who are experts in historic preservation.

We have several major projects coming up, thanks to a CAP grant that will help us determine what needs to be repaired and how to go about it.
