Actress Jessica Michna will be portraying Laura Ingalls Wilder and roaming the historic homes reading and acting as Laura Ingalls Wilder in period attire.
About Jessica Michna
Jessica is the 2016 award recipient of the Presidential Service Center’s Distinguished Service award for her riveting portrayals of First Ladies. Jessica has portrayed many historical women such as, Eleanor Roosevelt, Golda Meir, Abigail Adams, Mary Todd Lincoln, Hellen Keller, Molly Brown and more. She will be performing Laura Ingalls Wilder here at the Society on July 12. Don’t miss it!
The Crossthreads Fiberwork Guild will also be demonstrating old time knitting, treadle sewing machines, and loom weaving.
About Crossthreads Fiberwork Guild
They are a nonprofit group that, in their words, “Celebrate all fiber arts. Each member has their favorites and works with fiber in many ways. Knitting, weaving, spinning, felting, crocheting, tatting, dyeing fiber, book binding, raising fiber animals and more. We share skills, discuss and demonstrate new ideas and old traditions.
Guild members participate in events where we can educate and promote fiber arts. We, also, offer events for members and the public.”
The Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society welcomes Crossthreads Fiberworks to be part of our Little Town on the Prairie events on July 12th.
